Wholeness is a Direction, Not a Destination
You are not one thing, but many. Woven into something greater.
I made a theme for myself last month: Step into wholeness. I decided it was time to confront this concept of fragmentation (see earlier post on thought chaos).
As I embraced this idea of wholeness, I started noticing it everywhere: in the projects I’m weaving together, the communities I’m engaging with, and even in the way life is expanding around me.
What once felt like scattered pieces is now a constellation, each star connected by intention. I’ve been shaping my online presence in a way that feels more aligned, more like a living aesthetic realm than scattered accounts. The Dayvan website is evolving into something that holds it all together (check out the gift shop too).
Telerealms is a “craft meets Web3” series I’ve created. It explores how our physical creative habits reveal patterns in our digital behaviour. Check out Episode 1: Crafting Time ꕥ From Clay to Crypto with my friend, Hux!
Wholeness also means co-creating. I’m beyond thrilled to be in Kernel’s 10th cohort, a peer-learning institution dedicated to building a better web. I need the support of likeminded people to bring Aesthetic Realms to life. At Kernel I’m going to build this as a framework to decode cultural, psychological, and somatic patterns embedded in digital infrastructure.
Eventually, I want to make decentralised AI and privacy a tangible experience in our own bodies. I do believe that the future of computing will embrace the full spectrum of human expression.
Earlier this month I did a workshop on digital psychology in Singapore. I find it fascinating how people here are stuck in digital loops; they’re constantly "on" but crave deeper connection and creativity. I received great feedback, and even DJ’d afterwards! Dancing is so good for integration and finding that sense of…wholeness.
Speaking of wholeness, the birth of my nephew means I’ve stepped into a new role as an aunty! Looking into the eyes of a newborn is just wow, such a profound experience. It caught me off guard as I was knee-deep in learning about autonomous agents; such a funny and strange parallel of witnessing new life and creation.
I used to think I had to choose one path, one identity. But I see now that wholeness isn’t about narrowing down. It’s expansive, and it’s about holding everything together. Each project, each community, each relationship is a room in a larger house. And connecting those into something larger and alive. That’s where the magic is.
If this idea of wholeness resonates with you, come hang out in my Cubby House—a playful little lab. We have bi-weekly calls, next week I’m leading a creative meditation. Join the group here.
Lots of love, Dayvan
